In the Smart/Safe Cities concept, the optical fiber networks are used to improve the quality and disponibility of the services to the citizens in big cities. Furukawa promote the interconnection, rationalizing investments, beyond foment the sustainability and economic growth.
The big cities grow, become modern and must be increasingly "smart" to facilitate its administration and improve the quality of life of its inhabitants.
In the "Smart/Safe Cities" concept, the optical networks are used to interconnect services provided to citizens, improve their quality, rationalizing resources and investments as well as fostering sustainability and economic growth.
ADVANTAGES
The cities are constantly evolving and an optic infrastructure makes it possible to the city to become a Smart City. Being possible to attend every task of the city without losing trust of the service, making it easier and cheaper to maintain the system.
Optical fiber networks expanded their previous operation and are used to interconnect the services provided to citizens like schools, hospitals, traffic light system, transportation, public safety system (civil defense, fire department, police), detection of natural events, among others.
This interconnection is possible through Passive Optical Network (PON) solutions that allow accesses of up to 10 gb/s, combined with Mesh networks for sensing, which provides an extraordinary level of reliability necessary for quick decision making in critical events at the network
CHARACTERISTICS
a. Reduced cost during installation: A network made for sending and delivering data, video and voice in high speed and quality;
b. Business models based in “Non-operational recipes “, provide a self-sustainable operation: Low cost of operation and repair;
c. Efficiency and productivity: Networks with high-end Technology have no interruption in providing services making it faster and accessible for the citizen’s.
COVERAGE
Meet the needs of municipalities and their secretariats:
- Education: schools / libraries
- Health: hospitals / health centers
- Guard and Civil Defense: monitoring for prevention and solving urban problems through sensors and surveillance cameras
- Transport: smart parking lot and traffic lights, monitored public transport and traffic monitoring.
- Environment: sensors, smart waste management computerization
- Energy: smart public lighting and power distribution control
OUR NETWORKS
Equipment Central
This is the start of the network where the optical transmission equipment (OLTs), Optical Distributors , splitters, racks and cords are installed.
Distribution Network
This is responsible for the transition of large formation optical fiber cables from the central to small formation cables that reach the subscriber box. The key product for this part is the optical splice box and the optical splitter.
Access Network
Here we have the transition from outdoor to indoor distribution network cables. The key products for this part of the network are the optical termination box and the access cables, such as drop cables.
Termination Network
At the end of the network, where MDU topology is installed and where the transition to the indoor drop cables is made to the final equipment (ONU/ONT). In this part we have products like optical cables specially adapted for indoor environments and compact and multifunctional termination boxes that ensure the best solution for the customer.
